Must Visit Halloween Festivities in Jacksonville

Spooky season is officially here, and it’s time to start preparing for all of the festivities taking place across the city of Jacksonville this fall. Whether it be carving pumpkins with the kids or seeking out the perfect night of fright, the opportunities for fun this month are endless. Your friends at George Moore Chevrolet know just the places you need to experience this year.

Get Ready to be Spooked

For the adrenaline junkies who aren’t frightened easily, make sure to visit Jacksonville’s 13th Floor Haunted House. The attraction is now open on select dates until October 31st, 2022.

Voted “Top 5 Most Terrifying Haunted Houses in the U.S.A.” by USA Today, you’re sure to get your money’s worth of fear at this event. Experience rooms like the Chop House, All Hallow’s Eve, Legends of the Deep, and more.

The haunted house also offers mini escape rooms and games and ax throwing classes for those looking to continue the fun. Depending on demand, tickets range from $20-30 and can be purchased at a group rate. Fast pass add-ons are also available to skip the lines.

Corn Mazes For Days

For families that seek a milder fall experience, participate in a classic corn maze at Conner’s A-Maize-ing Acres! The exhibit is open on select Fridays and Saturdays throughout the month of October. Specific dates and times are available on their website homepage

Conner’s Corn Maze features a different design each year. This year’s design is dedicated to Jacksonville’s local heroes to raise awareness for their hard work and sacrifices in the community. It also includes badge #1205 in honor of Officer Josh Moyers.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate for the maze, the Haunted Trail on October 28th and 29th, or the Praize in the Maze event on November 11th, 2022. Admission includes playground access, pumpkin storytime, cow/horse train rides, animal farm access, and more.

Conner’s A-Maize-ing Acres will also provide access to dozens of food trucks with a variety of menu options to choose from. The farm opened in 2003 in an effort to bring the community together and educate the public on the importance of agriculture and the American farmer.

Make Halloween Historic

For some pre-Halloween trick or treating, head down to Historic Avondale. Participating in the costume contest is the perfect way to get the whole family involved this fall. The event also includes a haunted house and lots of candy for trick-or-treating.

The experience is set to take place on October 28th, 2022 in Historic Riverside and Avondale from 4-6 p.m. While spending time on the Avenue, visit local bakeries, shops, and restaurants to experience the full effect of Historic Avondale.

Spooky Shopping

For a mixture of Halloween festivities and retail therapy, check out the 904 Haunted Pop-Up for some festive finds. The second annual event will occur at the Seawalk Pavillion on October 30th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The pop-up is pet friendly and completely free to all guests. It will include a variety of food trucks and local vendors, so bring the family and come with an appetite. Trick or treating is offered at each booth, and a costume contest will be held for guests of all ages.

Pick Your Perfect Pumpkin

Halloween isn’t complete until you’ve picked out your perfect pumpkin. Visit one of these great pumpkin patches around town and get ready to carve. If you’re looking for some unique design ideas this year, consider carving your favorite movie character, your home state, or even your name in calligraphy.

Christ United Methodist Church

Located at 400 Penman Road in Neptune Beach, this patch opens to the general public on September 25th, 2022.

Holiday’s Nursery Pumpkin Patch
