It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and you don’t want to miss out on all the stunning light displays Jacksonville, FL has to offer. From dazzling light shows to interactive family events, there’s a holiday celebration for everyone. Learn more about some of our favorite winter destinations to visit that are sure to put you and your family into the holiday spirit. 

Areas to Drive Through 

Load up your Chevy with friends, family, and your favorite holiday snacks and take a ride through these impressive light displays/neighborhoods. 

Blackhawk Bluff Christmas Light Display 

Visit Blackhawk Bluff’s Christmas light show on Girvin Road from November 25th to January 1st, 2023. Experience thousands of holiday lights from light spheres to decorative holiday scenes that the whole family is sure to enjoy. 

The display is free to the public and is voted one of Jacksonville’s best light displays during the holiday season. Hours of operation are 6pm – 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 6pm – 11pm Friday and Saturday. 

Arbor Glade Neighborhood Light Display 

The Arbor Glade neighborhood light display is located off of Old St. Augustine Road and is open for the entire month of December 2022. The show is free to the public and features enchanting light decorations and themed displays including Star Wars, Christmas Vacation, and more. 

Jax Illuminations Annual Drive-Thru Holiday Light Show 

Jax Illuminations’ annual light show is open from December 1st to December 31st, 2022 at Regency Square Mall. The drive-thru show costs $25 per vehicle Sunday through Thursday and $30 Friday and Saturday. Tickets for vans and limos, priced at $40, are also available. 

Experience millions of lights, tunnels, and glistening Christmas trees all while listening to synchronized tunes. Light show hours are 6pm to 9:30pm Sunday through Thursday and 6pm to 10:30pm on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are non-refundable and must be purchased online in advance. 

Areas to Walk Through 

Put on your winter coat, grab a hot chocolate and check out these cheery and immersive light displays located across Duval. 

Deck the Chairs 

Deck the Chairs is a beach-side display that features light sculptures made by organizations local to Jacksonville to promote children’s art education and outreach. The non-profit display is available nightly from 5pm to 1am now through January 1st, 2023. 

Located along the Jacksonville Beach Seawalk Pavilion, bring the whole family, including pets, to enjoy the beautiful light display and support the community. The event also features decorated American Red Cross lifeguard chairs and weekly activities including music and dance performances. 

Jacksonville Zoo 

The Jacksonville Zoo is a great family destination no matter the time of year, especially during the holiday season. Visit the ZOOlights display December 9-11, 15-18, or 22-24 from 6-9 PM to view a dazzling display of over two million twinkling lights. 

The display also features talented musical performers, a 4D theater presenting the Polar Express, hot chocolate and smores, and even a Wildlife Carousel ride for guests 12 and under. Tickets purchased online in advance begin at $15 for zoo members and $25 for non-members. 

Smith’s Lights on Rue 

Visit Smith’s Lights on Rue Street to experience a magical display of lights presented by a private residence. The attraction is open nightly until 11pm from November 24th to December 31st, 2022. The free walk-through display is presented for the Jacksonville community’s enjoyment and features giant inflatables, light arches, and more.

Luminaria Festival 

The Luminaria Festival is a must this holiday season, especially for those near the Riverside and Avondale areas. Purchase a $39 luminaira tour ticket to explore historic neighborhoods and enjoy Christmas caroling, live music, warm hot chocolate and enchanting light displays. 

This year, Luminaria celebrates its 38th anniversary and will take place on December 11th, 2022. Join the Jacksonville community from 5-10pm at the Garden Club of Jacksonville on Riverside Avenue to celebrate the holiday season. 

Totally Lit-A Hanukkah Celebration at James Weldon Johnson Park 

Jacksonville’s Totally Lit-A Hanukkah Celebration will take place at James Weldon Johnson Park on November 29th, 2022 from 4:30-7:30pm. The event will feature Gili’s Kitchen food trucks, music and dreidel games, kosher wine and beer, and a celebratory menorah lighting. Admission is free and all members of the Jacksonville community are welcome to celebrate the Jewish Festival of Lights.
